Emerson to Cover Applications for New Refrigerant Alternatives in Next E360 Webinar

Emerson announced it will address the many questions surrounding the transition to lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants in its next E360 Webinar entitled Understanding Applications for New Refrigerant Alternatives.
With recent Environmental Protection Agency SNAP rulings mandating the phase-down of high-GWP refrigerants, the number of new refrigerant alternatives has increased dramatically. And while the EPA has listed lower-GWP A1 refrigerants as acceptable for use in specific commercial refrigeration applications, it is unclear what their impacts will be on equipment performance. These new refrigerant alternatives have the potential to improve energy efficiencies and environmental sustainability; however, many operators are faced with determining which options are best suited for their businesses.
Jason Prenger, director of refrigeration engineering, Emerson’s Commercial and Residential Solutions platform, will provide an in-depth assessment of the various refrigerants during this Webinar on Tuesday, January 24, at 2 p.m. EST, and cover the impacts on compressor reliability, efficiency and capacity. Prenger will also look at the challenges facing the various industry channels, including original equipment manufacturers, wholesalers and contractors.
Attendees will also learn:
  • The current state of regulations by application for usage of high-GWP refrigerants
  • How new refrigerants compare to their predecessors in efficiency and capacity
  • Operating envelope considerations for lower-GWP A1 alternatives
