Americold appoints Rob Chambers as President, expands executive roles

Americold has announced new executive appointments aimed at enhancing operational execution and global growth. Rob Chambers has been named President, a newly created role with responsibility for global operations and increased profit and loss oversight.

Chambers previously served as President, Americas, since January 2024, and has held multiple roles at Americold over 12 years, including Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer and Vice President of Commercial Finance. His past experience also includes executive positions at Saia, CEVA Logistics, and KPMG.

Bryan Verbarendse has been appointed President, Americas, succeeding Chambers. He joined Americold in August 2023 and brings over three decades of experience in the grocery supply chain sector, including senior leadership roles at Albertsons and SUPERVALU.

Richard Winnall, currently President, International, will assume additional oversight of the Global Commercial Committee and Operations Committee in coordination with the President, Americas. Winnall joined Americold in 2019 and has held leadership roles across Asia Pacific and Latin America, with prior experience at DHL Supply Chain and Linfox.

“These appointments reflect our continued commitment to operational excellence and customer-centric growth across our global portfolio,” said George Chappelle, Chief Executive Officer of Americold.

Americold also reaffirmed its 2025 full-year financial guidance as stated in its May 8, 2025, first quarter earnings release.
