BAKO Western completes UK fleet upgrade with Carrier Lynx Fleet

BAKO Western has finalized a three-year modernization of its UK vehicle fleet with the delivery of its last rigid truck equipped with a Carrier Transicold Supra 1150 Multi-Temperature unit. The milestone marks the full deployment of Carrier’s Lynx Fleet digital platform across all 20 of the company’s temperature-controlled vehicles.

As the first UK operator to adopt Lynx Fleet in 2022, BAKO Western has now fully integrated the system, completing its upgrade with a new 18-tonne Iveco Eurocargo vehicle. The platform combines Internet of Things (IoT) technology, machine learning, and data analytics to improve cold chain visibility, compliance, and overall operational efficiency.

The system enables remote two-way commands such as set point control, engine mode changes, and defrost activation. Users can access detailed, real-time insights on temperature, engine status, and door activity, and receive alerts for temperature deviations and door openings in geo-fenced areas.

BAKO Western is also utilizing the Lynx Fleet Mobile app, offering remote access to asset status and operational metrics via a streamlined interface. This integration supports faster response to risks and facilitates historical data reporting for compliance and customer assurance.

“Lynx Fleet has truly transformed how we work,” said Mark Curtis, Transport Manager, BAKO Western. “It’s far more advanced than our previous basic telematics platform, and you can tell it’s been designed with the practicalities of logistics work in mind.”
