Carrier Transicold Introduces TRU Status Light for Improved Visibility

Carrier Transicold has launched the TRU Status Light, a new high-visibility indicator for transport refrigeration units (TRUs). Designed to enhance operational awareness, the light provides clear status updates in a durable, water-resistant package.

The TRU Status Light features two distinct LED signals: a white circle to indicate normal operation and a yellow triangle to signal an alarm on the TRU controller display. Mounted on the front corner of the trailer, the light allows drivers and yard personnel to check TRU status from a distance.

“Our TRU Status Light tells you at a glance whether the TRU is working as expected or needs attention,” said Ching Yue Yeung, Senior Manager, Aftermarket Products, Carrier Transicold. “This patented design is based on input from customers who want a simple, reliable unit status that’s easy to see and understand.”

Key Features

  • Enhanced visibility: The TRU Status Light automatically adjusts brightness, increasing in direct sunlight and dimming at night to reduce glare.
  • Sealed, durable design: The IP67-rated housing and UV-resistant lens are built to withstand dust, moisture, and harsh road conditions.
  • TRU compatibility: It integrates with Carrier Transicold’s APX, Advance, and Summit controllers, as well as other TRU brands.
  • Flexible installation: Available in multiple mounting kits, including L-bracket and recessed bracket options, allowing for easy upgrades.

The TRU Status Light is now standard on new Carrier Transicold trailer TRUs and available as an aftermarket replacement through Carrier Transicold dealers. It is part of the company’s Performance Parts line, designed to support efficient TRU operation.
