The Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) UK has announced its decision to wind down operations, with the Cold Chain Federation (CCF) set to inherit its technical guides and continue their development.
CEBA UK has supported standards in the temperature-controlled environment sector, working with contractors and suppliers involved in the construction and maintenance of facilities for temperature-sensitive goods. As part of its closure, CEBA UK will transfer its guides and intellectual property to CCF, which will form a new committee to oversee their review and rebranding.
According to the announcement, these resources will be updated to reflect evolving technical requirements in warehouse construction and modernisation.
Phil Pluck, CEO of CCF, said: “Whilst it is sad to see the CEBA UK brand go, I am delighted that they have tasked the CCF with the continuation of their good work. I thank the CEBA UK committee for all of their hard work and dedication to raising standards in our industry over the years and can assure them that the guides we are inheriting will be invested in to ensure they remain the benchmark guides for future temperature-controlled investments in the UK.”
Tony Wall, Chair of CEBA UK, added: “It is with our members in mind that a unanimous decision was made by the CEBA UK Executive Committee to pass over the guides and IP to the CCF where they will benefit a far wider audience and become the go-to guides for all CCF and former CEBA UK members.”
