Constellation Cold Logistics (“Constellation”) has officially commenced construction of its expansion project in Grimsby. Groundwork has begun at the Estate Road 2 site, where an additional 49,000 europallet spaces will be added to the facility’s current capacity of 17,000 europallets. The project is slated for completion in 2025.
This expansion is fueled by strong customer demand from both new and existing clients, who have already committed to utilizing the additional pallet positions.
The state-of-the-art facility will be supported by a £5 million grant from the UK Seafood Infrastructure Scheme. As part of Constellation’s efforts to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, the new site will include a solar array and will be 30% more energy-efficient than existing cold storage facilities.
Constellation recently announced its acquisition by EQT, a purpose-driven global investment organization based in Stockholm, Sweden. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in October 2024.
