Constellation is developing a new cold storage facility in Gothenburg, Sweden, to expand its presence in the Nordics and address demand for temperature-controlled capacity in the region.
The company is progressing with construction of an 11,500 sqm (approx. 123,785 sq ft) facility that will provide approximately 38,000 pallet positions. The investment will increase Constellation’s total capacity in Sweden to more than 47,000 pallet positions.
The site is targeting BREEAM Excellent certification and is being designed to support energy-efficient infrastructure and future-proof operations aligned with cold chain requirements. Constellation said the investment supports existing customer growth and new demand in a market where cold storage capacity remains constrained.
Located near key ports and major transport routes, the Gothenburg facilities provide cold chain logistics through Constellation’s own temperature-controlled transport network, connecting customers and suppliers across Sweden. The site offers frozen, chilled and ambient storage, with capacity to support value-added services.
Constellation said its Gothenburg facilities are BRCGS certified, operate in accordance with the HACCP method, and hold a AAA credit rating. The company said the services are designed to streamline cold chain logistics, maintain unbroken cold chains and protect product integrity at every stage.
