CubeCold has expanded its presence in Italy with the acquisition of SG, a cold storage company based in Northern Italy. The move supports CubeCold’s strategy to strengthen its footprint in one of Southern Europe’s key logistics and production regions.
SG operates a cold storage facility with capacity for 10,000 pallet positions and serves a diverse customer base in the food retail sector. The company also offers expansion opportunities, which CubeCold intends to leverage as part of its growth strategy.
According to Paul Jukes, Chief Operating Officer at CubeCold, SG’s location provides “critical access to both domestic and cross-border logistics corridors,” and the company’s operational standards align with CubeCold’s service model.
CubeCold plans to retain SG’s current service approach, ensuring continuity for existing clients while integrating the facility into its wider European network.
“This acquisition enhances our capabilities servicing national food retailers in Italy and supports our ambition to build a pan-European platform of high-performance cold storage assets,” said Manuel Biella, Head of Italy at CubeCold.
