Emergent Cold LatAm has inaugurated its first greenfield cold storage facility in Mexico, reinforcing its expansion strategy in the region. The newly built warehouse, located in Ciénega de Flores, Monterrey, has a capacity of 23,000 pallets, equivalent to approximately 23,000 tons of food, within a 150,000 m³ space.
This facility is part of the company’s long-term investment plan for Mexico. It is expected to generate around 80 direct jobs and 250 indirect jobs, contributing to the economic development of Nuevo León and the country.
“This operation aims to meet the growing demand from food producers and retailers operating in Mexico, providing storage and distribution services in a strategically located facility supported by a robust transportation network,” said Juan Pablo Benítez, Emergent Cold LatAm’s Managing Director for Mexico. He also noted that demand trends in Nuevo León and across Mexico have led to previous expansions in Apodaca and Villagrán (Guanajuato) and an ongoing greenfield project in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Emergent Cold LatAm entered the Mexican market in September 2022 with its first acquisition. Today, the company operates 35 multi-temperature warehouses across Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Baja California, Estado de México, and Mexico City.
“The new Emergent Cold LatAm warehouse in Monterrey reflects our commitment to providing the highest-quality temperature-controlled storage infrastructure, ensuring strategic logistics support for the food and retail industries in Mexico,” said David Palfenier, President of Emergent Cold LatAm. He emphasized the company’s strategy of investing in new facilities and modernizing warehouses to expand its cold chain infrastructure across Latin America.
