Lineage has completed an expansion of its Louisville-Winstead cold storage facility in Kentucky, adding more than 84,000 square feet (about 7,800 square meters) of temperature-controlled warehouse space. The project is intended to support existing customers, with limited space remaining for new customers in the market.
The expansion, which began in mid-2025, adds about 10,400 pallet positions across two convertible freezer and cooler rooms. According to the company, the additional capacity is designed to improve operational flexibility for customers that require multiple holding temperatures and scalable storage.
The Louisville-Winstead facility provides temperature-controlled warehousing, transportation and other integrated services. These include USDA and FDA inspection services, railcar siding and cross-docking.
Louisville is positioned near Interstates I-65, I-64 and I-71 and has railroad access, while UPS Worldport is also located in the city. “The additional space gives us more flexibility in how we operate and support customers’ cold storage needs in the region. Its central location makes it a strategic hub for the North American food supply chain,” said Sean Vanderelzen, President, North America East at Lineage.
