Lineage, Inc. has started construction on an expansion of its fully automated cold storage facility in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands. The development aims to support long-term customer growth, particularly for anchor tenant Lamb Weston, and address increasing regional demand.
The expansion will increase the warehouse’s capacity by 40%, bringing total storage to over 250,000 pallet positions. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026 and will become one of Lineage’s largest global sites. The facility serves as a logistics hub with access to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and inland terminals.
The upgraded site includes advanced energy systems such as rooftop solar panels, on-site battery storage, and is designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification, aligning with the sustainability goals of both Lineage and Lamb Weston.
“At Bergen op Zoom, we are delivering the automation, efficiency, and connectivity that Lamb Weston and our broader European customer base rely on to serve their markets with confidence,” said Sean Vanderelzen, President, Lineage Europe.
“Lineage has been a trusted partner, and the expansion of Bergen op Zoom represents exactly the kind of innovation and infrastructure we need to support our growing global demand,” added Mark Lehman, SVP International Supply Chain Leader at Lamb Weston.
Lineage currently operates over 60 facilities across 10 European countries, offering a total of approximately 2.5 million pallet positions. The Bergen op Zoom project follows the company’s recent expansion in Vejle, Denmark.
