Lineage, Inc., the world's largest temperature-controlled warehouse REIT, has inaugurated its state-of-the-art automated warehouse in Hazle Township, PA, on October 29. This new facility incorporates advanced technologies to strengthen the supply chain and enhance service value for Lineage's customers.
Strategically located to serve approximately 60 million people within a 250-mile radius, the 386,000 square-foot warehouse is equipped with 85,000 pallet positions. The facility employs innovative automation such as cranes, rail-guided vehicles, and proprietary computer vision technology to improve processing speed and accuracy. Automated layer picking further boosts operational efficiency for large SKU offerings.
Highlighting the company's commitment to innovation, Sudarsan Thattai, Lineage's CIO and Chief Transformation Officer, stated, "The new fully automated Hazleton facility marks another significant addition to our automated network, furthering our purpose of delivering food safely and reliably to millions of families around the globe."
The facility opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Lineage leaders, Greater Hazleton CAN DO, and the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce.
