Matthew Ott confirmed as new President & CEO of the Global Cold Chain Alliance

The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) announced that Matthew Ott, CAE, has been named the organization’s new President & CEO. Ott will assume his new role on June 1st and succeeds outgoing President & CEO, Corey Rosenbusch who left the Association earlier this year to take the helm as President & CEO of The Fertilizer Institute.

“On behalf of the Search Committee and IARW Executive Committee, I am very pleased to welcome Matt as the new President & CEO of GCCA,” said Andrew B. Janson, Chairman of the Search Committee and Immediate Past Chairman of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), one of four Core Partners of GCCA. “Matt will provide strong leadership as we continue to address the strategic priorities of the membership and meet the evolving needs of our industry.”

Ott brings to GCCA extensive knowledge of the food supply chain and experience in trade association leadership through his nine years at the National Grocers Association (NGA), most recently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer as well as Executive Director of the NGA Foundation. Before joining NGA in 2011, Ott worked for the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). His expertise in driving member value, implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering organizational growth will be an asset to the association. Ott’s designation as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) demonstrates his strong commitment to achieving and maintaining excellence in the nonprofit industry.

“GCCA is a vibrant global association at the forefront of one of the most critical industries in the world – the perishable food supply chain," said Ott. “I look forward to working with the staff and members on advancing the organization and industry forward during this time of unprecedented change.”

Ott was selected by GCCA’s Search Committee, which was Chaired by Andrew Janson of MTC Logistics and made up of members including Larry Alderfer, United States Cold Storage; Brian Beazer, WCS Logistics; Fred Boehler, Americold Logistics; Ron Buford, Premier Refrigerated Warehouse; Adam Forste, Lineage Logistics and Ray Tarnowski, Chairman, Past Chairmen’s Council. Vetted Solutions, a Washington, D.C. based executive search firm, managed the global search process along with the search committee.
