NewCold has announced the construction of a new automated cold storage warehouse in Flen, Sweden, marking its second facility in the country. The development supports the company’s ongoing expansion in the Nordic region and follows its first Swedish site in Helsingborg, operational since 2015 with 71,000 pallet positions.
The Flen warehouse will include a 42-meter-tall high-bay system with automated storage and retrieval, automatic trailer unloading, and a total capacity of 56,000 pallet positions. According to the company, the facility will incorporate advanced technology to ensure high energy efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Located centrally in Sweden, the new site is expected to enhance national distribution capabilities and improve access to key regional markets. The project will also generate new employment opportunities in the area.
“We are proud to expand our presence in Sweden with the launch of our Flen project,” said Fredrik Lessig, NewCold Managing Director Nordics. “This location is strategically positioned in the country’s logistics network, offering our customers unparalleled access to Sweden’s major population centers and beyond. Flen will strengthen our ability to serve the growing needs of the Nordic market while staying true to our mission of delivering innovative, sustainable cold storage solutions.”
