NFRA and AFFI announce 2026 Frozen Food Hall of Fame inductees

Three leaders in the frozen food sector will be inducted into the 2026 Frozen Food Hall of Fame, according to an announcement by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) and the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI). The honorees are Richard Marks, Paul DiGenova, and the late Frank Tiegs. The induction ceremony will be held on February 21 during AFFI-CON 2026.

The Hall of Fame, established in 1990 by the Distinguished Order of Zerocrats, recognizes individuals whose contributions have significantly shaped the frozen food industry through leadership, innovation, and service.

Paul DiGenova, currently general manager of commodities at Nortera, has spent over 40 years in the industry, holding senior roles that supported organizational growth and supply chain collaboration. He is known for promoting mentorship and innovation in the sector.

Richard Marks, former chairman of the board of Arbre Group Holding Corporation, played a key role in developing the frozen vegetable repack and distribution model. Over his 45-year career, Marks supported startups and mentored industry professionals. He led the acquisition of Chase Farms during a critical season, preserving jobs and production. In retirement, he remains active in industry associations and nonprofit mentoring efforts.

Frank Tiegs, honored posthumously, founded Oregon Potato Company (OPC), which expanded from a single acre in 1978 to a multi-state frozen food operation with around 15 facilities. Under his leadership, OPC grew its product range and emphasized sustainable farming and strategic growth.

The ceremony will take place in San Diego during AFFI-CON 2026.
