Schmitz Cargobull Acquires 48% Stake in GT Trailers

Schmitz Cargobull AG has signed an agreement to acquire a 48% share in GT Trailers, a leading Polish manufacturer of high-volume sets and trailers based in the Opole region. The partnership aims to combine the companies' expertise in designing and producing rigid chassis superstructures, including tarpaulin, box, and refrigerated solutions. The transaction is subject to approval by competition authorities.

Strategic Cooperation Between Family Businesses

Schmitz Cargobull and GT Trailers emphasize their shared background as family-owned companies with a strong focus on quality and long-term reliability. “Schmitz Cargobull and GT Trailers are both family businesses, with a reputation for reliability and longevity in the industry. Not surprisingly, because both companies offer galvanised chassis and bodies with anodised aluminum. By merging our innovation efforts and collaborating in sales we expect to increase the market share in the segment of high-volume combinations,” said Andreas Schmitz, CEO of Schmitz Cargobull.

Agata Duliniec, CEO of GT Trailers, highlighted the benefits of the partnership. “With our strong commitment to quality and sustainability, GT Trailers has become a trusted name in the transport industry. The cooperation with Schmitz Cargobull will position us for continued success in the years ahead. Through this partnership we pave the way for innovation in products, services and market development.”

Pending regulatory approval, both companies expect the collaboration to enhance their market presence and improve offerings for customers in the transport sector.
