Trane Technologies and its Thermo King brand have completed the acquisition of Thermo King Northern, a Thermo King and Frigoblock dealer serving the northern UK market. The transaction closed in early February 2026 and was marked with a welcome celebration for employees on February 10. Thermo King Northern will continue operations as part of Thermo King UK.
The company said the acquisition supports Thermo King’s strategy to strengthen its transport refrigeration service network in the UK and across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). It follows Thermo King’s March 2025 acquisition of Marshall Fleet Solutions, which the company described as expanding the scale and reach of Thermo King UK as it accelerates growth.
Thermo King Northern has represented Thermo King as a dealership in the region for more than 40 years, selling, distributing and providing service for Thermo King transport refrigerated solutions. The company is headquartered in Carlisle, England, with additional service locations in Glasgow and County Durham, and provides transport refrigeration, HVAC, commercial refrigeration and cold storage services, including equipment installation, maintenance, repairs and tail lift support across northern England and Scotland. The acquisition includes Thermo King Northern’s full operations, customer base, and team of service engineers and transport refrigeration solutions experts.
