Sensitech Collaborates with Qualcomm to Develop Advanced Connected Technologies for Digital Supply Chains

Sensitech, a subsidiary of Carrier Global Corporation and a leader in real-time cold chain monitoring solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to revolutionize the future of digital supply chains. This collaboration aims to enhance real-time monitoring and analytics solutions for the global cold chain industry, integrating cutting-edge connectivity and visibility technologies.

Bhasker Kaushal, Vice President & General Manager of Sensitech and Refrigeration Aftermarket at Carrier, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “Groundbreaking innovation in digitizing and connecting supply chains requires collaboration across an ecosystem of key players. This partnership with Qualcomm Technologies will help us improve real-time monitoring, intelligence, and response in the supply chain through faster connectivity, more precise visibility, and optimized energy consumption for devices.”

Nakul Duggal, Group General Manager of Automotive, Industrial & Embedded IoT, and Cloud Computing at Qualcomm Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are thrilled to work with Sensitech to bring advanced connectivity and location technologies to the cold chain industry. By leveraging the Qualcomm Aware™ Platform, we aim to enhance Sensitech’s real-time monitoring capabilities, ensuring greater precision and reliability for global cold chain shipments.”

Focus on Enhancing Real-Time Monitoring

Initially, the collaboration will focus on improving Sensitech’s real-time monitoring product suite, leveraging the Qualcomm Aware Platform for enhanced global location precision and reliability. This will include Sensitech’s TempTale® GEO X, a flagship product designed for life sciences global cold chain shipments.

Additionally, this partnership will enable Carrier's Lynx ecosystem to benefit from expanded asset-tracking capabilities, pushing the boundaries of cold chain visibility and operational intelligence. Together, Sensitech and Qualcomm Technologies are poised to lead future innovations in cold chain monitoring.

Addressing Challenges in Cold Chain Logistics

The cold chain plays a vital role in transporting and storing temperature-sensitive goods, including food and pharmaceuticals. However, today’s cold chain is often fragmented, leading to limited visibility and increased risk of spoilage. This collaboration between Sensitech and Qualcomm seeks to overcome these challenges by providing uninterrupted, real-time visibility throughout the entire cold chain process, ensuring the safe delivery of goods and reducing waste.

This partnership aligns with global efforts to combat hunger and reduce the environmental impact of food waste, helping to build more connected, automated, intelligent, and sustainable supply chains.

Future Prospects

The collaboration is based on a non-binding memorandum of understanding and is subject to the negotiation of a definitive commercial agreement. Sensitech and Qualcomm Technologies will continue to work together to advance cold chain technology and ensure a safer, more efficient global supply chain.
