Timothy Taylor's brewery has received two new temperature-controlled trailers, each equipped with a Carrier Transicold Vector 1550 unit. Continuing a working relationship spanning over 20 years, the trailers join a 100% Carrier refrigerated fleet that is used to deliver the brewery's full range of beers to customers throughout the UK.
The powerful Carrier Transicold Vector 1550 models are fitted to 13.6m Lawrence David trailers, replacing older equivalent Carrier products in Timothy Taylor's mixed commercial vehicle fleet.
“We rely on Carrier Transicold equipment to maintain our cask temperatures in all weather conditions,” said Chris Wetherill, transport manager at Timothy Taylor’s. “They keep our beers at between 10°C and 12°C, ensuring proper conditioning which gives our ales a clean, fresh flavour.”
Every Vector 1550 features Carrier Transicold's all-electric E-Drive technology, which eliminates the mechanical transmissions used in belt-driven truck and trailer refrigeration systems. Timothy Taylor’s will use its solar panels to power the new Vector installations at night to maximize sustainability potential and optimize fleet operations.
The brewery continues to use the Carrier Transicold Vector 1550 because it provides the ideal refrigeration solution for transportation needs, providing exceptional drawdown speeds and precise setpoint control. Without Carrier Transicold equipment, high outside temperatures in the summer can negatively speed up the second fermentation process, destroying barrels and spoiling cargo, while in the winter months the cold can create a cold haze on the beer, affecting the clarity of the pint.
