Constellation enters Poland with cold-storage acquisition

Wimar's facility south of Warsaw adds 25,000 temperature-controlled pallet positions to Constellation's European network.

Constellation enters Poland with cold-storage acquisition

Constellation Cold Logistics has acquired Wimar Coldstore, marking the temperature-controlled logistics provider’s entry into Poland. The acquisition adds 25,000 pallet positions of temperature-controlled capacity and makes Poland the tenth country in Constellation’s European network.

Wimar Coldstore operates a temperature-controlled storage facility south of Warsaw in Radwanków Szlachecki. The site serves Polish and international customers in the Polish and wider Central and Eastern European cold-chain market.

Founded in 1990, Wimar Coldstore provides frozen fruit processing, cold storage and temperature-controlled logistics services. Its cold-storage infrastructure and freezing capabilities support frozen fruit, meat, bakery and other food products.

Constellation now operates across ten European countries and offers more than one million pallet positions. The company said the acquisition will expand its service capabilities in Central and Eastern Europe.

“This transaction gives Constellation an entry point into the important Polish market, makes Poland the tenth country in our network, and further enhances our ability to serve customers across Central and Eastern Europe,” said Carlos Rodriguez, CEO of Constellation.

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Modular Refrigeration Systems in Life Sciences Distribution Centers

by Ramez Naguib, P.E. Introduction Life sciences distribution centers are under immense pressure to deliver consistent temperature control, comply with increasingly stringent regulations, and optimize operational efficiency. Traditional built-up refrigeration systems often prove cumbersome, costly, and slow to implement. In contrast, modular, factory-assembled refrigeration systems have emerged as a compelling alternative. Drawing on lessons from
