FläktGroup has broken ground on a new HVAC production facility in Gwangju, South Korea, expanding its manufacturing capacity for cooling and air technology solutions serving customers across Korea and East Asia.
The 21,800 m² (approx. 234,700 ft²) facility is scheduled to begin production in early 2028 and will become FläktGroup’s 15th global production site. The project follows Samsung’s acquisition of FläktGroup in 2025 and will combine Samsung’s manufacturing capabilities with FläktGroup’s expertise in ventilation, air treatment and critical cooling technologies.
The facility will manufacture Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), Fan Wall Units (FWUs), Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs) and Air Handling Units (AHUs). FläktGroup said these technologies support data centres, advanced manufacturing facilities and large commercial buildings.
According to the company, growth in AI is driving demand for high-performance cooling infrastructure. The new facility is intended to expand production capacity closer to key regional markets and support demand for HVAC and cooling solutions for digital and industrial infrastructure.
