LG highlights HVAC systems for Gulf region developments

LG Electronics said its HVAC portfolio for the Gulf region is aimed at infrastructure, hospitality and mixed-use projects that require cooling systems for extreme climate conditions. The company highlighted three products for developers and engineers: the MULTI V 5 VRF system, the Air-Cooled Inverter Scroll Chiller and the BECON building energy management platform.

According to LG, the MULTI V 5 Variable Refrigerant Flow system is designed for hotels, towers and commercial facilities. The company said the system uses AI-driven adaptive technology to adjust output based on occupancy, temperature, humidity and environmental changes, and that it can operate at full cooling capacity at temperatures up to 43°C (109.4°F), with partial functionality at temperatures as high as 52°C (125.6°F). LG also said the unit has a compact modular design, ducted and duct-free installation options, and open-protocol BMS integration for centralized control of heating, cooling and energy management.

For hospitals, hotels and office towers, LG presented its Air-Cooled Inverter Scroll Chiller as a central plant cooling option. The company said the system uses an all-inverter design with a frequency range from 30Hz to 120Hz to match cooling output to real-time energy demand. LG added that the chiller has an 18% smaller footprint, operates at 68 dB(A), uses R32 refrigerant, and includes a smart touch controller for remote monitoring and scheduling.

LG also highlighted its BECON platform for building energy management. The company said the platform covers heating, cooling, lighting, security and power, and is offered in tiers including BECON HVAC, BECON Building and BECON Cloud. According to LG, the platform includes predictive energy monitoring and fault diagnostics, and supports integration with LG and third-party systems through BACnet and Modbus.
