ABRAVA Revitalizes Northeast Regional Office in Brazil

ABRAVA has announced the revitalization of its Northeast Regional Office, strengthening its institutional presence and expanding connections with HVACR companies, professionals and sector entities in Brazil’s Northeast region. The initiative marks a new phase of regional development, resuming work started in 1991 and later consolidated with the official foundation of the Northeast Regional Office in 2011.

The new management team will be led by Maurício Lopes of Artermica as president and Julliane Gomes of JG Engenharia & Climatização as vice president. The board also includes Marllon Batista of BTS Engenharia as technical director and Valdenir Martins Alves of Tecsar Engenharia as relationship director.

The management term will run for three years, following ABRAVA’s institutional calendar for 2025–2028. Initial activities will take place in a hybrid and strategic format, without a defined physical office, using existing operational bases and rotating meetings among the states of the Northeast. Priorities include operational and administrative structuring, closer contact with companies and professionals, communication channels and mapping the main demands of the local market.

The action plan will follow ABRAVA’s strategic pillars: decarbonization, air quality and food safety. The association says the Northeast currently represents around 10% of Brazil’s national HVACR market and is expected to reach estimated revenue of R$ 5.5 billion by the end of 2026. Nationally, the sector is expected to move approximately R$ 55.62 billion in the same period.

The source also points to expected employment growth of around 20,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs in the region. In residential air conditioning, only 5.3% of homes in the Northeast currently have at least one air-conditioning unit, compared with a national average close to 20%. In commercial and industrial refrigeration, surveys indicate approximately 20,000 large establishments using refrigeration across the region.

“The Northeast has a consolidated market, with enormous growth potential and unique characteristics that make the region extremely strategic for the sector. Our main objective is to have a united and qualified sector to provide excellent service,” said Maurício Lopes, president of ABRAVA Northeast Regional Office.
