AEFYT and IIAR will promote the use of refrigerants with low environmental impact

AEFYT, Association of Cold Companies and their Technologies, and IIAR, International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, have signed an agreement by which they will work together to defend the use of energy efficient, safe and economically viable technologies, as well as to promote the use of of refrigerants with low environmental impact.

The collaboration agreement covers the following aspects: continuous communication, telematic conferences and meetings, collaboration between chapters, publications, education, coordination of technical activities and research. Through all of them, a continuous dialogue will be fostered and information of interest to both parties will be shared and disseminated. In this framework, both organizations have agreed to work on common strategies related to public affairs.

The preparation and distribution of publications aimed at disseminating information on new technologies, trends and good cold practices is one of the parts of the agreement that will have greater visibility. Opportunities for joint production of publications will be studied, as well as the translation and cross-marketing of texts from each organization. Likewise, both organizations will promote research in industrial and commercial refrigeration within the areas of design, efficiency, application and safety.

Education is another of the sources of future collaboration between AEFYT and IIAR. Within this framework, cross-educational opportunities will be offered at regional, national and international levels, opportunities to co-develop courses and other training programs will be explored.

Finally, in relation to technical activities, liaison representatives will be established in key technical committees and opportunities to make position statements on technical issues in the refrigeration sector will be fostered.

"The impetus that ammonia and other natural refrigerants have taken within sustainable refrigeration makes the dissemination and research of these technologies necessary. The agreement with IIAR will allow the associated companies of AEFYT to participate in the development of this industry, as well as to have privileged access to the advances that are produced in this regard.", He said Roberto Solsona, president of AEFYT.

"The synergies that we can establish between AEFYT and IIAR will have a direct impact on the information that companies receive to advance in the development and implementation of sustainable cold systems, which is a demand from the industry and society. Likewise, it will allow us to advance in research to achieve increasingly efficient refrigeration facilities", He said Gary Schrift, IIAR President.
