On April 29, CAREL celebrated the 20th anniversary of CAREL Electronic Suzhou with an event titled “Together for a Bright Future.” The ceremony gathered representatives from the Chinese government, the Italian Consulate in Shanghai, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, industry professionals, regional customers, suppliers, and media.
CAREL began its activity in China in the early 1990s through distributors in Hong Kong and Taiwan. A representative office in Shanghai followed, and in 2005, CAREL Electronic Suzhou was officially established to support international customers in the region. By 2009, the manufacturing site had grown to 200 employees.
Over time, CAREL Electronic Suzhou expanded its R&D activities by launching a dedicated research laboratory and localized product versions, including custom software for the Chinese market. The branch currently employs more than 350 people, including 65 engineers in its R&D department focused on HVAC/R solutions.
The anniversary was attended by company executives and institutional guests, including Rocco Carlo Genchi, Deputy Consul General of the Italian Consulate in Shanghai; Francesco Nalini, Group CEO; Alberto Catullo, CEO of the APAC Region; Luciano Marzaro, Managing Director of CAREL Electronic Suzhou; Frank Xia, Head of Sales and Marketing; and Lorenzo Bali from the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.
“The past 20 years have been a story of growth, collaboration, and mutual learning,” said Luciano Marzaro. “We have built a strong local presence while remaining true to CAREL’s global values. Our success in China is the result of a shared vision, where innovation and cultural exchange have gone hand in hand.”
