Caverion acquires GK Denmark service business

Competition authorities have approved Caverion Denmark’s acquisition of GK Denmark’s service business as GK exits the Danish market. The transaction includes Vagns VVS and nearly 200 employees, with the transfer taking effect on 1 May. According to the companies, the employees will continue their work within Caverion Denmark.

The acquired business has built a nationwide service presence in Denmark in recent years. Lars Sjørring, director of GK Denmark’s service business, will join Caverion Denmark’s management team as the integration begins.

With the acquisition, Caverion Denmark said it is strengthening its position in ventilation, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety, security and sprinkler systems. The company said the deal will allow it to combine several technical disciplines under one agreement and link GK Denmark’s service organization with Caverion’s technical facility management activities, including data-driven operations and advisory services.

In Aarhus and Odense, operations will be consolidated in GK’s current premises, while in Copenhagen the combined organization will operate from Caverion’s existing facilities in Skovlunde. Both companies said the integration will be carried out with mutual respect for both organizations.

“Our ambition is to deliver 10–15% operational optimization through improved use of data, systematic maintenance, and targeted investments. Especially within cooling and ventilation, we see significant potential in working with energy efficiency, indoor climate, and stable operations,” said Carsten Sørensen, CEO of Caverion Denmark.
