The COOP EXTRA store, which was reopened in October, is equipped with FREOR Green Wave line refrigeration equipment operating in a remote CO2 refrigeration system. The supermarket now runs in a sustainable way – with a very low carbon footprint and lower energy consumption compared to traditional HFC solutions.

Solutions Installed

COOP EXTRA Mysen store have chosen these chiller cabinets and freezers from FREOR:
  • multidecks JUPITER Glass Doors (over 40 line meters in total), providing perfect visibility of vegetables, dairy and meat products, making products on display the main priority of visual impact.
  • semi verticals PLUTON SPACE (7,5 meters in total), stylish and ergonomic, great for the display of prepacked meat, ready meals and delicacies at the customer’s eye level.
  • freezer islands HELLA (over 25 meters in total) for various frozen produce, featuring a wide display area.

CO2 Solution is Gaining Popularity in Norway

CO2 refrigeration solution is gaining popularity in Norwegian stores of a larger sales area as a climate-friendly alternative to HFC centralized refrigeration system. High taxes on fluorocarbons were one of the key drivers for retailers to find other natural solutions in order to reduce investment and maintenance costs.

FREOR Green Wave refrigeration equipment is designed with a focus on sustainability, high energy-efficiency, and employment of low GWP and ODP refrigerants. We have a wide range of products suitable for centralized CO2 systems. We also offer Hydroloop as a smart solution for smaller stores, together with R290 plug-in display showcases.
