Copeland Launches Scout AI for Enhanced HVACR Troubleshooting and Support

Copeland has unveiled an enhanced version of its Copeland Mobile app, incorporating Scout AI, an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot designed to simplify troubleshooting and provide real-time support for HVACR professionals. This update reflects Copeland’s focus on leveraging AI to improve efficiency and empower technicians, contractors, and wholesalers with easy access to technical resources.

As the HVACR industry adopts low-global warming potential (GWP) and natural refrigerants, professionals face operational challenges, including navigating physical manuals, harsh work conditions, and tight deadlines. The new AI-driven Scout chatbot addresses these issues by providing instant, personalized access to Copeland's extensive technical database.

Scout AI enables app users to access documents, videos, product specifications, warranty details, and troubleshooting guidance. The tool mimics a search engine but delivers results curated from Copeland’s reliable resources, improving the accuracy and relevance of the information available on the jobsite.

“We’re harnessing the power of digital transformation and AI to revolutionize how our customers interact with our products and solutions,” said Lisa Beasley, vice president of information technology for Copeland. “By delivering intelligent, intuitive access to critical information and tools, we’re empowering users to work more efficiently, solve problems faster, and drive success with precision and confidence.”

In addition to Scout AI, the app update features a scanning tool that reads Copeland product nameplates. This function delivers product specifications, diagnostic support, and replacement recommendations. Notably, the scanning tool also supports competitor nameplates, offering cross-references for Copeland compressor replacements.

The app’s interface has been redesigned with a simplified home screen, providing quick access to features like videos, tutorials, and a “Where to Buy” tool. Plans are underway to integrate Copeland’s Application Engineering and Fault Finder apps into Copeland Mobile by summer, creating a centralized troubleshooting hub.

The updated Copeland Mobile app, now available in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, supports English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Chinese, broadening its accessibility to a diverse user base.

With this innovation, Copeland aims to streamline operations for HVACR professionals, reducing downtime and improving jobsite productivity.
