Daikin and NEXTY Form Thailand JV for AC Software Development

Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd. and Toyota Tsusho NEXTY Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. have established Daikin Toyota Tsusho Electronics (Thailand) Ltd., a joint venture for embedded software development for air conditioning systems in Thailand.

The joint venture will develop embedded software for air conditioning equipment developed and produced by Daikin Industries (Thailand). The company aims to shorten lead times and optimize software development costs while strengthening its development foundation.

Daikin said software development for air conditioning has become more diversified, advanced and complex, extending beyond equipment and controller software to cloud integration and data utilization. The companies said a deeper collaboration was needed to improve development speed, efficiency and human resource development.

Toyota Tsusho NEXTY Electronics (Thailand) has approximately 20 years of experience in automotive embedded software development. Daikin said the software architecture it is pursuing for air conditioning has affinity with design approaches developed in the automotive field.

Daikin Toyota Tsusho Electronics (Thailand) Ltd. was established on April 27, 2026. It has capital of 40 million Thai Baht [approx. USD 1.1 million], with Daikin Industries (Thailand) holding 51.0% and Toyota Tsusho NEXTY Electronics (Thailand) holding 49.0%. The company is led by President Kunitaka Morimoto.

The joint venture will initially carry out commissioned embedded software development for Daikin Industries (Thailand). It plans to expand its capabilities to support software development needs at Daikin Group air conditioning development bases across ASEAN countries and beyond.
