Daikin Advances in DOE's Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge

Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc. has reached the final stage of the U.S. Department of Energy's Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Technology Challenge. This advancement follows successful field tests and highlights Daikin's focus on innovative, energy-efficient electric heating solutions.

The challenge, initiated in 2021, seeks to engage manufacturers and stakeholders in creating heat pump technology that efficiently operates in extreme winter conditions. Daikin's low Global Warming Potential (GWP) R-32 inverter heat pumps align with this initiative, aiming for deployment across U.S. and Canadian climate zones.

"We are thrilled to advance in this challenge," said Takayuki Inoue, Daikin's EVP and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. "Our work with the DOE supports decarbonization goals and promotes the adoption of advanced heating solutions."

Daikin remains committed to developing sustainable technologies and will continue collaborating with the DOE and stakeholders to ensure the challenge's success.
