Daikin Applied Secures Exclusive Rights to Sorbent Ventilation Technology in U.S.

Daikin Applied Americas has acquired the exclusive license to Sorbent Ventilation Technology® (SVT®) from enVerid Systems Inc., granting it sole rights to manufacture, sell, and distribute the air-cleaning technology in North America. The deal strengthens Daikin Applied’s position in energy-efficient HVAC systems and supports its efforts to help customers meet indoor air quality (IAQ) standards while advancing sustainability goals.

SVT captures a broad spectrum of indoor contaminants, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ozone, and carbon dioxide (CO2), using a proprietary sorbent media housed in a modular system compatible with various commercial HVAC systems. It can operate independently or alongside energy recovery and demand control ventilation strategies to optimize system efficiency. According to the company, SVT is currently the only technology independently tested and validated to meet all contaminant requirements in ASHRAE Standard 62.1.

The technology was first integrated into select Daikin Applied products in 2021. With this new agreement, Daikin Applied plans to expand SVT’s availability within its product lineup. The service model will remain unchanged during the transition, and support for standalone SVT installations will continue in the near term.

“With the addition of this patented technology to our portfolio, we're eliminating the long-standing tradeoff between energy performance and air quality,” said Yu Nishiwaki, Chief Operating Officer, Daikin Applied. “It’s an advancement that supports both decarbonization and occupant well-being, while making it easier for engineers and building owners to meet IAQ standards with confidence.”

Christian Weeks, CEO of enVerid, added: “SVT has become a trusted technology to help buildings in the commercial, education and government verticals achieve high-performance IAQ with reduced energy loads. Daikin Applied is the ideal partner to continue to scale the adoption of this technology and further its impact.”
