Daikin establishes fluorochemical sales unit in India

Daikin Industries has established Daikin Chemical India Private Limited in Gurugram, Haryana, India, to handle sales, technical support and marketing for fluorochemical products. The new company is scheduled to start operations in April 2026 as Daikin moves to strengthen its chemical business presence in India.

The company said demand is expected to grow in India as the government promotes industrial development and local manufacturing under its “Make in India” initiative. Daikin identified semiconductors, batteries, information and communications, and air conditioning as industries that rely on high-quality fluorinated materials.

Daikin said a local supply chain will require close collaboration with local components and materials manufacturers, along with technical support. The company added that it will deepen customer engagement, strengthen technical support in India and monitor local demand trends with a view to potential local production.

At the same time, Daikin said it will work to establish a stable refrigerant supply framework for its air conditioning business in the country. According to the company, Daikin Chemical India Private Limited was established in January 2026 with capital of INR 600 million [about USD 7 million], and is headed by President Mikihiro Kodama.
