Daikin has provided chillers to provide comfort cooling in Middle East

Daikin has recently provided chillers to provide  comfort cooling in Middle East conditions in a project involving a four stars hotel in the city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia. The units will be used to provide the hotel with the necessary cooling for the rooms and public spaces in the facility.

For this project the chillers chosen are from the M Series, a range of products specifically designed to stand and perform in Middle East environments with traits such as high ambient temperature and exposure to dust.

Products Installed: 2x EWAD-M
Total cooling capacity: 1700 kW

About the products and the project

For this project consultants were looking for air-cooled screw compressor chillers which could easily integrate into the BMS system.

Specifically, they were looking for solutions that could guarantee great reliability in the high ambient temperatures and dusty environments, but also impressive overall energy efficiency.

Daikin was able to meet the specifications offering two air-cooled screw chillers with EC fans, which managed to beat the competitions thanks to the very high energy efficiency level offered.

The screw inverter compressor designed and manufactured by Daikin, differently form a screw compressor, it uses one main screw meshing with twin star rotors to produce volume matching compression cycle. Due to the main rotor, balanced in both radial and axial direction, the compressor bearing has extremely high reliability. Therefore, its life span can be longer than other screw compressors. The single screw compressor, then, has only three moving parts. As a result of that, it reduces the possibility of failure and keeps operation costs low.

Besides that, the screw inverter compressor is Daikin is globally recognized for the outstanding performance in terms of energy efficiency, as the screw profile, which ensures the best performance  the consultants showed confidence in the brand as they had great past experiences, both with Daikin VRVs and chillers.

While consultants had great past experiences with both VRVs and chillers by Daikin, the end user was new to the Daikin world and wanted to get a feel of the quality of and the level of professionality that Daikin Applied Europe can guarantee.

The witness test was a good chance, not only to prove the reliability and the performance of the units provided by Daikin, but also let the end user know better the company, the manufacturing facilities, the processes and procedures and what is behind the solutions Daikin was providing.
