Danfoss invests in ANEO Retail to expand energy services across Nordics

Danfoss has announced an investment in ANEO Retail International to strengthen their partnership and support expansion into Norway, following earlier collaboration in Sweden and Denmark. The move aims to scale energy efficiency solutions for grocery retailers across the Nordic region.

ANEO Retail will consolidate its operations in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark under the new entity ANEO Retail International. The company offers an Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model, enabling food retailers to access fully managed technical systems with reduced capital outlay. The service includes professional monitoring, stable operations, and energy optimization using Danfoss technology such as BOCK compressors and control systems.

Danfoss’ investment will help accelerate growth, enhance operational capacity, and further develop the EaaS offering. The companies aim to address rising demand from grocery retailers for smarter and more flexible infrastructure. ANEO Retail currently manages energy consumption in more than 1,700 stores across the Nordics.

“This continued partnership is a game-changer for ANEO Retail—and for energy optimization in food retail,” said Kjetil Larsen, CEO of ANEO Retail. “Danfoss is the ideal partner, not only because of their technical expertise, but because they share our vision for smarter, more sustainable store operations.”

Kristian Strand, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions, added: “Expanding our collaboration with ANEO Retail into Norway is a natural next step. This partnership is a perfect example of how we can accelerate the green transition in everyday operations.”
