Danfoss Opens New Production Facilities in Mexico

Danfoss, the globally renowned Danish industrial group, has further solidified its commitment to serving customers in Mexico and the Americas with the inauguration of new production facilities.

With its new production facilities for scroll and reciprocating compressors, sensors, and heat exchangers, the group responds to fast-growing market trends such as energy efficiency in cooling, electrification of heating, and the refrigerant transition. Part of the Danfoss Monterrey Campus, the newly expanded site spans an additional 40,000 square meters.

A special ceremony took place at the Monterrey factory, attended by high-profile figures including Kim Fausing, Danfoss President and CEO; Jürgen Fischer, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions; and Astrid Mozes, President of Regions at Danfoss. Joining them were G Samuel García Sepúlveda, Governor of Nuevo León; First Lady Mariana Rodríguez Cantú from AMAR to Nuevo León; Iván Rivas, Secretary of Economy; Emmanuel Loo, Undersecretary of Economy; César Garza, Municipal President of Apodaca; and Julio Molinari, Regional President of Danfoss Latin America.

The Monterrey expansion aims to achieve an estimated annual production capacity of 100,000 compressor units for HVAC applications, 1.6 million pressure sensors, and A2L leak detection sensors for flammable refrigerants. Additionally, it will double the production capacity of microchannel heat exchangers.

Kim Fausing expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “With the growth potential in Mexico, I am delighted to be in Monterrey to open our production facilities as it will enable us to service our customers even better going forward. I’m equally excited to meet our team that made it happen. With the expansion of new production facilities, we respond to strong market trends such as energy efficiency in cooling, electrification of heating, and the refrigerant transition.”

The visit coincided with the opening of a new Oxxo convenience store on the Danfoss Campus, featuring Danfoss’ cutting-edge food retail technologies like intelligent performance monitoring and control solutions. The store serves both as a retail operation and a demonstration site for energy efficiency technologies, offering a practical showcase for customers and partners.

Oxxo, the largest convenience store chain in Mexico and Latin America with over 22,000 stores, is committed to energy efficiency. Danfoss is proud to partner with Oxxo on its journey towards greater energy savings.

Danfoss has been operating in Mexico since 1995, with facilities in Monterrey, Reynosa, and Querétaro, employing 3,200 people. Julio Molinari commented on the significance of the expansion, "Mexico has great growth potential for Danfoss. Our new investments support a thriving local HVAC industry and a food chain sector striving for energy efficiency across the entire chain. Our investments in Monterrey are precisely oriented to strengthen our position in these markets."
