Danfoss to offer rotary compressors for residential heat pump market

Danfoss entered into a global agreement with Highly, global manufacturer of rotary compressors, with the aim to offer rotary technology to the residential heat pump market and some selective Refrigeration applications. This partnership further strengthens Danfoss’ position as a preferred partner to accelerate the decarbonization of the heating sector.

This strategic agreement will enable Danfoss to offer a complete R290-based program for heat pumps, now including rotary compressors, and further expand its broad end-to-end portfolio from the heating source to the distribution.

For OEMs and Distribution market within the residential heat pump scope, Danfoss will be selling Danfoss branded rotary compressors manufactured by Highly. Highly will continue to sell Highly branded rotary compressors via their existing channels.

Fabio Klein, Senior Vice president of Scroll and Reciprocating Compressors at Danfoss Commercial Compressors says: “By adding R290 rotary compressors to Danfoss’ extensive portfolio of propane-based valves, controls, heat exchangers, and sensors, we are facilitating our customers work in their systems design and helping them to speed up time to market.”

The rotary compressors will come with a brand-new HVAC drive, detailed polynomials, and will be offered as a pre-qualified package, further simplifying the heat pump systems qualification.

Ji Shengchang, Vice President of Shanghai Highly Electrical Appliances Co., LTD. says: “Danfoss’ complete offering for heat pump market, strong application expertise will certainly contribute towards Highly becoming the leading supplier of the rotary compressor technology in the heat pump market. Danfoss’ already established sales network, proximity to customers, high quality service levels along with Highly rotary compressors expertise will help customers design efficient systems.”
