Danfoss Climate Solutions has appointed Dennis Appel as Divisional President of its newly formed Controls and Thermal Management division. This new division combines expertise in heat exchangers with refrigeration, cooling, and air conditioning technologies to drive innovation and improve efficiency.
Since joining Danfoss in 2020, Appel has played a key role in expanding the company's heat exchanger business. Kristian Strand, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions, emphasized Appel’s leadership experience and its value to the refrigeration and components sector, stating:
"Dennis has successfully led our heat exchangers business, and his leadership will be a tremendous asset to our refrigeration and components business. With 20 years of leadership experience in international heat transfer and thermal management companies, he brings deep industry expertise to this role."
Appel expressed enthusiasm for his new position, highlighting the opportunity to unite experienced teams and enhance customer solutions.
"I am excited to build upon our strong foundation and history of exceptional products, solutions, and customer relationships, while bringing together two talented teams with a proven track record of success. Most importantly, I look forward to driving impactful results for our customers," he said.
The new division aims to enhance Danfoss Climate Solutions’ responsiveness to evolving customer needs, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements. Strand noted the importance of this restructuring, given the increasing focus on sustainability and energy efficiency in the HVACR industry.
Appel holds an MBA from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Before joining Danfoss, he held executive roles at Modine Manufacturing and Luvata, overseeing global thermal management operations. From 2016 to 2019, he served as Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Solutions at Modine, managing operations across North America, Europe, and China.
As of 2025, he is also a Board Member of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
Danfoss Climate Solutions’ reorganization aligns with industry trends and aims to strengthen the company’s ability to adapt to market changes.
