Dr. Gerhard Wobser, the longtime President and CEO of LAUDA DR. R. WOBSER GMBH & CO. KG, is celebrating his 85th birthday. With a Doctorate in Physics, he has led the family business for nearly four decades, driving numerous innovations and entrepreneurial achievements.

In 1971, Dr. Wobser joined the company founded by his father. After his father's passing in 1977, he and his brother Karlheinz took over management. Under his leadership, LAUDA evolved into a global technology leader in temperature control units and systems.

Since 2003, Dr. Gunther Wobser has taken over as President and CEO in the third generation. He acknowledges his father's calm leadership and scientific precision as foundational to LAUDA's long-term success.

Dr. Gerhard Wobser retired from active management in 2010 but continues to play a vital role as a shareholder and member of the Advisory Board. His vast experience still benefits the current management team.

In addition to his business acumen, Dr. Wobser is known for his cultural and social contributions. He served as Chairman of the industry association Spectaris from 1998 until his retirement and is now its Honorary Chairman. He founded the LAUDA FabrikGalerie in 1995, making it a cornerstone of the regional art scene. Furthermore, he chaired the Lauda-Königshofen Community Foundation from 2013 to 2019 and played a key role in its establishment. His donation enabled the restoration of the Kilian Fountain at the Catholic Church in Lauda in 2020.

Dr. Wobser's achievements extend beyond business. His passion for art and culture and his community commitment have left a lasting impact on Lauda-Königshofen and the entire region.

He has received numerous awards, including the Staufer Medal (2006), the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon (2011), and the Citizen’s Medal of the City of Lauda-Königshofen (2019). In his retirement, Dr. Wobser remains active, pursuing cultural interests, attending art exhibitions and concerts, and playing golf.
