ECAC has joined the REAL Alternatives as National Lead on training for Ireland

REAL Alternatives, the international programme for low GWP alternatives technician training, is delighted to announce that ECAC, has joined the group as National Lead on REAL Alternatives training for Ireland.

ECAC is long established provider of Refrigeration, H.V.A.C. and F-Gas training and certification in Ireland. They provide quality training for all industry sectors and above all include as much hands on content as possible in all courses. With a variety of programs focusing on the refrigeration, H.V.A.C. and electro-mechanical sectors, they can provide technical training solutions to manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical and electronics industry in addition to refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump contractors. John Murphy, ECAC , commented: “We are delighted to be joining our colleagues in Europe and Canada in working towards the future of our Industry and embracing the changes that are coming. We will be promoting and offering training in low GWP alternative refrigerants and have already taken bookings for REAL Alternatives courses on Flammable refrigerants. We look forward to a long relationship with our colleagues in REAL Alternatives and actively contributing to the ‘Greening’ of our Industry.”

Marco Buoni, President of the European Association AREA and REAL Alternatives Ambassador, added: “I am really delighted to see that more countries from the EU and beyond are joining our family. We are moving towards the use of flammable refrigerants in almost every application and CO2 is also now in more widespread use. Therefore, technician competence standards need to be higher and more consistent globally. The success of the EU F-gas certification for HFC refrigerants is an example of what can be achieved through mutual recognition and mandatory certification of training. We hope and expect that the next revision of the Regulation will bring into scope a similar approach for low GWP alternatives”.

The REAL Alternatives programme now includes 23 countries in our team of National Leads spread across the globe and 17 language versions. The REAL Alternatives approach to low GWP refrigerant training offers blended learning resources covering flammables and carbon dioxide. This includes free online theory training for self-study supported by classroom teaching and assessment resources for use by licensed training providers. Technicians completing the full programme via one of the licenced training providers can achieve a REAL Alternatives Certificate.
