Nidec Global Appliance has announced the expansion of its Embraco brand into the heating and air conditioning (HVAC) market through the acquisition of scroll compressor manufacturer Xecom. The move broadens Embraco’s product portfolio and strengthens its position as a provider of complete refrigeration and HVAC solutions for both residential and commercial applications.
The acquisition adds a wider range of scroll compressors to Embraco’s offerings, extending its capabilities beyond refrigeration into heating and air conditioning systems. The newly integrated product line covers applications such as cold rooms, heat pumps, rooftop chillers, packaged units, and central ducted air conditioners. The scroll compressors range from 1.2 HP to 35 HP and are compatible with refrigerants including R410A, R404A, R290, A2Ls, and other low GWP options.
Scroll compressors are valued for their reliability, energy efficiency, and high cooling capacity. Embraco’s expanded portfolio aims to serve both OEMs and the aftermarket across multiple regions, complying with international environmental regulations.
