Sanhua Introduces SD2 VSD Extension for Commercial and Industrial HVAC&R Systems

Sanhua has unveiled its new SD2 Variable Speed Drive (VSD) Extension, expanding its portfolio of high-performance drive solutions for commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) applications. Designed to support systems up to 60 kW for heating and 45 kW for cooling, the SD2 VSD Extension brings advanced variable speed control to larger-scale installations.

The SD2 Extension is compatible with a wide range of natural refrigerants, including propane (R290) and carbon dioxide (CO₂/R744), making it suitable for modern energy-efficient and environmentally conscious systems. This adaptability allows it to meet the growing demand for sustainable HVAC&R technologies using low-GWP refrigerants.

Engineered for a broad spectrum of applications, the new drive is optimized for use in heat pumps, air conditioning systems, refrigeration racks, and condensing units. Its wide compatibility includes numerous hermetic brushless DC (BLDC) compressors. Each unit is pre-configured for the customer’s specific compressor and application, following rigorous testing in Sanhua’s TÜV-certified laboratory.

The SD2 VSD Extension also features a fully plug-and-play design, with customizable heatsinks and simplified serviceability. This allows for faster integration, reduced installation time, and easier maintenance in the field.
