EPTA acquires VPP and strengthens its presence in Chile

Epta announces the acquisition of Sociedad Ingeniería y Mantención VPP Limitada, one of the market leaders in Chile, specialised in the engineering, installation and maintenance of refrigeration systems in retail, rental and sale of refrigerated cabinets and spare parts. The operation will allow Epta to consolidate its position in the country where it has been active since 2013 with Epta Chile SpA through the acquisition of Portanuova.

The agreement falls within the internationalisation strategy of the Group, namely to expand its direct presence with technical and commercial branches, to offer Clients turn-key installations and strong after sales service support. The committment of the Group coincides with the VPP mission, which aims at being recognised as the best company in the country for services dedicated to the world of commercial refrigeration. Founded in 2008, it works with four branches in the main Chilean regions and boasts partnerships with leading local and international chains. The true added value of the Company is its team of over 100 technicians.

“We are proud to welcome VPP into the Group. An operation strongly desired by both sides, thanks to sharing the same principles such as, for example, focus on the Client and development of collaborators’ talents.” declares Fernando Galante, General Manager of Epta Latam who continues “The project will pool together our excellence, for an unequalled integrated system. The technologically advanced and sustainable solutions of our brands can now be combined with a first in class assistance to Retailers, provided by an operator as well-established as VPP on the territory”. “After years of presence in the Chilean market focusing on giving our customers a turnkey solution and direct attention that nurtures long-term relationships, this acquisition allows us to provide them with a 360° service” declares Marcelo Cataldo, General Manager Epta Chile and Peru.

Victor Peña, CEO of VPP comments “The intense competition that characterises large-scale distribution in Chile is increasingly legitimising the interest for an all-round service, in order to accompany the Client from design to installation, to after-sales. To become part of a Group like Epta, which distinguishes itself for its innovative strength, is an important competitive advantage for us, to consolidate our presence in the market and continuosly improve our skills”.

The closing shall be valid from July 29th.
