F-gas Regulation: AREA replies to the consultation

AREA has sent a detailed reply to the EU consultation on the F-Gas Regulation. The consultation is part of the Regulation's evaluation and impact assessment currently undertaken in preparation for the revision of the text.

As a complement to its contribution, AREA has also sent a position paper setting out the main axes that we believe the revision should follow. These should be based on:

1- The preservation of the Regulation's core principles, particularly as regards the phase-down scheme and the bans, and

2- Filling the gaps, namely the skill gap (mandatory training and certification on alternative refrigerants), the energy factor (“energy efficiency first”), and addressing illegal trade of refrigerants
