Flir, together with Extech Instruments, has introduced a range of new test and measurement tools aimed at improving inspection and diagnostics in plumbing, HVAC, and environmental applications.
The Flir VS80 High-Performance Videoscope now includes new accessories designed for underground plumbing inspections. The updated kits feature a 30 m spool with a 1280 × 720 HD self-leveling probe and a built-in 512 Hz Sonde Transmitter. A companion 512 Hz Pipe Locator with dual 3D antennas and arrow guidance can detect pipes or blockages up to 1.5 m (5 feet) underground. The system offers IP54/IP67 ratings, 8 hours of runtime, and compatibility with the Flir Meterlink app.
For water quality testing, Extech has released the EC700 6-in-1 Water Quality Meter Kit, targeting aquaculture, laboratories, and treatment plants. It uses interchangeable probes to measure pH, conductivity, TDS, salinity, and dissolved oxygen, with compensation for temperature, pressure, and salinity. The device includes an optical DO probe, IP67 waterproof housing, and a large LCD display, and can store up to 99 readings.
HVAC professionals can now use the new Extech RD350 Refrigerant Leak Detector, which employs a heated semiconductor sensor to detect refrigerants including R410A, R32, and R134a, with a sensitivity of 3 g/year. It offers three sensitivity levels, audible and visual alarms, and a flexible 39 cm (15.5 inch) probe.
For indoor air quality monitoring, the Extech CO270 Air Quality Meter measures CO2, humidity, dew point, and temperature. Designed for commercial and industrial environments, it offers up to one year of battery life on three AAA batteries, a graphical display, programmable alarms, and security features to prevent theft or tampering.
All products are now available through authorized distributors globally.
“By adding smarter plumbing accessories to the VS80, we’re giving inspectors the ability to trace pipes and diagnose problems faster, safer, and with greater precision,” said Heliel Morales, Director of Business Development at Flir.
