Frascold compressors at Chillventa 2022

The European Union is setting increasingly ambitious climate and energy targets in order to achieve a competitive and climate-neutral economy by the year 2050. In this context, Frascold – a leading player in the development, production and marketing of semi-hermetic compressors for the refrigeration and air conditioning sector – is at the forefront of the energy transition and supports its customers with a wide range of continuously evolving solutions, using natural refrigerants. At Chillventa, the Company’s booth featured new solutions such as the innovative screw compressors with aluminium motor for NH3 and the TK and SK models, for transcritical and subcritical CO2 systems.

Frascold encourages the use of NH3, a solution characterised by an ODP and GWP equal to zero and excellent thermodynamic properties. With the range of screw compressors ALUMINIUM, the Company expands the application field of the refrigeration fluid and guarantees total safety conditions thanks to the development of a semi-hermetic solution built with aluminium components, a metal compatible with the fluid. A family composed of 8 models (4 for low and 4 for high) offering maximum compactness and an IPM permanent magnet motor with aluminium winding, specifically conceived for ammonia. A technical arrangement that, together with the built-in Vi control system at 2 levels, ensures a high energetic efficiency, both with partial loads and at full load, also thanks to the use of an external inverter. ALUMINIUM offers a range of electric motors from 130 to 160 HP, being the ideal solution for medium size plants in the field of commercial, industrial, transport, cooling process and conditioning refrigeration.

At Chillventa, Frascold presented also the complete families of products for transcritical and subcritical CO2 systems. Among these, the family of TK semi-hermetic piston compressors for transcritical operations, recently reinforced with the Z-TK that features a flow rate of 38 m3/h, and the SK3 piston compressors, completed by 4 models that present a power range from 15 to 30 HP. These solutions, dedicated to the commercial, industrial and process cooling sectors, contribute to make the plants sustainable and energetically efficient.

Lastly, the FVR range, the semi-hermetic double screw compressors that can be used both with HFCs and hydrocarbons. Plug&play solutions easy to install, also thanks to the universal compatibility of their connectors, that present a COP performance coefficient higher than 5% with regard to the previous models. The strength of FVR are the compact dimensions, the operation silence guaranteed by the profile of the screws, and the possibility of controlling the compressor to favour a higher service life over time and a significant energy saving. Frascold strengthens the series, ideal to fulfil the needs of industrial refrigeration, with a new compressor for volumetric displacements from 620 to 910 m3/h, with electric motors up to 300 HP.
