Frigoglass launches smart cooler platform with NU! technology partnership

Frigoglass has introduced a new generation of smart cooler technology as part of its expansion into vending and unattended retail solutions. The move includes a strategic partnership with French technology company NU!, aiming to enhance connectivity and automation in the beverage and HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) sectors.

The next-generation platform integrates NU!’s proprietary smart shelf system into Frigoglass vending coolers. The technology combines weighing sensors, cameras, and a central processing unit with embedded software and a cloud-based platform, enabling real-time product tracking, transaction processing, and remote fleet management.

Frigoglass will hold exclusive global rights to market and sell vending coolers equipped with NU!’s smart technologies within the beverage industry and to selected key accounts in the HoReCa segment.

The cooperation forms part of Frigoglass’ broader growth strategy to build an ecosystem of intelligent solutions. The company aims to combine its manufacturing capabilities with NU!’s sensor-based technologies to support digital transformation in commercial refrigeration.

“Frigoglass has long been a pioneer in smart refrigeration, consistently leading the industry through innovations such as the energy-efficient Class A coolers,” said Serge Joris, CEO of Frigoglass Group. “Partnering with NU! is an important step in this journey – and certainly not the last. We expect to announce additional partnerships soon to accelerate the development of our digital solutions and advance Frigoglass’ digital transformation.”
