Gesticool joins SYCLEF Iberia, strengthening presence in Portugal

Gesticool, a Portuguese company specializing in commercial and semi-industrial refrigeration, has joined SYCLEF Iberia, the Iberian division of the SYCLEF Group. The integration marks SYCLEF Iberia's second strategic operation in Portugal and brings the group’s structure to 7 companies, 33 sites, and more than 800 employees.

Founded in 2002, Gesticool operates from Lisbon, Porto and Faro (Algarve) and employs around 40 people. The company is led by Managing Directors Carlos Alves and Antonio Cruz, who will remain in place to ensure operational continuity.

Gesticool focuses on the design, installation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, with a specialization in CO₂-based solutions for supermarkets, warehouses and the food industry. The company emphasizes energy efficiency and low environmental impact in its systems.

As part of SYCLEF Iberia, Gesticool will benefit from shared services including training and technical support, with plans to further expand its presence in key Portuguese markets.

Carlos Alves, Managing Director of Gesticool, stated: “We are delighted to join SYCLEF Iberia. We share the same convictions and the same commitment to technical excellence, energy performance and quality of service. This integration marks a new chapter for Gesticool, one that will, I am certain, bring opportunities for innovation, learning and collective growth.”

Antonio Gutiérrez, Managing Director of SYCLEF Iberia, added: “Gesticool’s arrival marks a new milestone in SYCLEF’s development on the Iberian Peninsula. It strengthens our expertise and consolidates our presence in Portugal. Beyond the technical complementarities with our companies, we share the same vision of refrigeration: a responsible approach based on innovation, proximity and quality of service.”
