Hoshizaki boosts its spare parts supply chain with new distribution center

Hoshizaki Europe announced the opening of its new spare part distribution center for the European markets
The new distribution center for spare parts orders throughout Europe is an integral element of Hoshizaki’s strategy to further advance the company’s customer service by building synergies, streamlining supply chain operations, and partnering with experienced partners to fulfill this task. To accomplish this, Hoshizaki will collaborate with logistic service supplier Hitachi Transport Systems BV to distribute all spare part orders via one location.

“Hitachi Transport Systems BV is operating an efficient distribution center. We were particularly impressed with the high level of automation across all parts of the supply chain management. When it comes to spare part order processes, this will be a true game-changer,” says Frank Helling, Head of Logistics at Hoshizaki Europe.
So far, Hoshizaki has been distributing spare parts to our customers in Europe through seven dedicated warehouses in different countries. However, managing several warehouses can lead to avoidable administrative work and shipping routes. By channeling all incoming spare part orders to one central point, we utilized existing synergies and created a smooth workflow for all the involved parties.

Uwe Reimer, Sales Director at Hoshizaki BV, explains the importance of Hoshizaki’s strategy to build more efficient communication and operation lines:

“Our customers in the challenging service industry often experience enormous pressure and cannot wait for spare parts for several days. With our new spare part dispatching system, we aim to provide customers with spare parts as quickly as 24 hours for Premium delivery and within 48 hours with Standard delivery. Another benefit is that we can actively elevate our stock control, which makes it easier for us to maintain stable product availability, even at peak times.”

The new spare part distribution center in Waardenburg, Netherlands, is conveniently located to dispatch spare parts to all EMENA areas in a cost and time-efficient manner.
