IOR Celebrates its 120th Birthday

The IOR will be hosting a free social event at the Royal Air Force Museum on 4 December 2019 in Hendon London to celebrate the date of its formation.

On the 8th December 1899 the IOR was formed at a meeting chaired by R Leonard with 16 interested individuals. Initially known as the Cold Storage and Ice Association reflecting the early days of refrigeration in the UK, which was based on ice imports.

Before the presentation, those attending will have the opportunity to explore the Museum and discover the fascinating story of the RAF.

Each year IOR include a talk looking back over the development of an aspect of our industry over this time. This year's event will look at the screw compressors from the first prototype in the 1970s to the design challenges of today.

Bookings for the event
are now open and available on the IOR web site.
