IOR names three candidates for 2025 President-Elect elections

The UK Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) has confirmed three candidates for its upcoming 2025 President-Elect elections: Paul Arrowsmith FInstR, Steve Gill FInstR, and Rob Lamb FInstR. The selected nominees were recommended by the Nominations Committee following a review of thirteen eligible members.

The President-Elect will work alongside current IOR President Lisa-Jayne Cook FInstR as Chair of the Board of Trustees until taking over the position next year. IOR members may propose additional candidates until 29 August. Voting will begin in September, with results to be announced at the Annual General Meeting on 29 October.

Paul Arrowsmith has over four decades of experience in the refrigeration industry, including roles at WR Refrigeration and currently as Refrigeration Engineering Design Manager at Sainsbury’s. He is active in several professional bodies and committees and has emphasized professional development and industry collaboration.

Steve Gill previously served as IOR President from 2014 to 2016 and remains active within the Institute and wider sector. He brings a mix of engineering, policy, and governance expertise and positions himself as a candidate offering continuity, independence, and global perspective.

Dr. Rob Lamb began his career in refrigeration research and has worked at Star Refrigeration since 1998, where he currently serves as Group Sales and Marketing Director. He has held various roles in IOR and other industry bodies and aims to use his industry-wide experience to support the Institute’s future direction.

In parallel, nominations for two Trustee positions remain open until 1 August. Voting members will receive candidate information and voting instructions in September.
